Anyone have any recommendations on calming/relaxing over the counter pills or liquid medication that I can take for a two hour drive? I'm taking a Greyhound bus next week and I'm terrified of having a panic attack. Anyone??

Any type of tips would be greatly appreciated as well.

Thanks.

I've taken St. Johns Wort for anxiety.

I've also noticed that when I take the melatonin to help me sleep it really relaxes me. It does knock me out pretty good though. Not sure I would recommend to take on the Greyhound you may end up across the country by the time you wake up. LOL

I also try to limit how much coffee/soda I consume because that doesn't help me at all.

Maybe take a few books/crossword puzzles/word finds to help keep your mind busy. Or even a rubix cube, sounds dumb but little puzzles that I can focus on really help keep my mind busy.

Thanks. I have my boyfriend going with me which should ease it a little bit, but yeah I might have to take some type of sleeping pills. At least he'll be there with me. I started taking L-Theanine capsules, but they don't do anything for me anymore :( I'll have to invest in something different.

The melatonin has really helped me for my insomnia, I've only had to double up on the dose a few times.

That's great your BF is traveling with you, I'm sure that will help A LOT.

    Have a safe trip!

There is one I'm going to try called Phenibut. AI sports is releasing a version, SNS makes one, and several other companies. Has some great reviews. Also SAN makes a multi called Dr. Feel Good that is suppose to help.

Bumping this up because I've been interested in St. John's wort and melatonin for a while.

I've never taken St. John's Wort but when I was doing a degree course there were a few people on the course with me that took it to help reduce stress during the build-up to exams. They swore by it, they claimed that it helped them a lot.
  • might give st johns wart a try. i'm currently on 5 types of medication for my bipolar and its annoying, esp as 2 of them make me want to sleep, although thats a good thing for me
