It seems like there are quite a lot of people asking questions about the effects of eating disorders so here is an article I have found about the study they did back in WW II to study the effects of starvation. Notice they considered starvation cutting calories back to 1600 CALORIES!!!!!!!!! I hope everybody saw this! Any how with eating disorders there is so much that they still dont know. I take part in many research projects and they do believe it is a brain disease..chemical imbalance. Just like diabetes is an imbalance of insulin this really is a disease and we are not just messed up in the head. All though it does feel that way some times.... They have found that by going to psycho therapy can actually change they neuron pathways to help you change your thinking so that is why they suggest therapy when you have an ED. And all hope is not lost just because we have this the more you challenge it you can change those pathways and chemicals(antidepressants and with...get ready for this on with FOOD) things can get better. They find that people who have more support and get treatment sooner do the best. But all hope is not lost for old timers as for my self! lol Because we get older and wiser and keep on fighting right???? Any way here is the link
