So Marines, This is our first call to formation and I am asking that you sound off.
1. Where are you at in your goal?
2. What are you planning when you meet your goal?
3. Who do you plan to encourage this next year?

    1. I have somewhere between 15 and 20 pounds left to lose. I've rededicated to eating well but I didn't gain over the holidays thankfully.
    2. When I meet my goal this year it is time to evaluate where I am physically. I might need to lose a few more pounds than planned depending on my body fat at my goal and I definitely want to build muscle. I plan on celebrating by buying myself some nice clothes.
    3. I plan on encouraging my mom this next year. I know she really wants to lose weight and she is capable of doing it, but the rest of the family does things to destroy her progress.

    1. I have lost 40 pounds. I am on my second goal of losing thirty more.
I have all ready evaluated what I need to do to reach the next 30 pounds.
    A. I started competing in 5k runs. This seems to motivate me and has kept me on track.
    B. I am going to compete in the warrior dash and spartan sprints this summer. If you have not checked into this please do so. It is some what close to some training we have done as Marines.
    C. The good thing about being a Marine is that we have all gone through hell and back to become what we have become. If you laid around and got lazy and fat like I did for the last twenty years than shame on me. However, I look at it this way.
    1. Hell aint a bad place to be. Since I have been there and back. Repeating the process hasn't been so bad. I keep uping my goals and keep pushing myself. I don't know many civilians that will do that to themselves.
    2. I am not looking at my last 20 years of doing nothing as a negative. I am considering my self very lucky I made it through those destructive twenty years with out harming myself physically and emotionally. Once a Marine always a Marine. It is tough to have the mental toughness but no longer have the physical body to do what your mind is telling you to do. That is changing and I am very excited to lose the pounds I set out to lose. I am feeling stronger than ever.
ENCOURAGE!!!!!!!!!!! finding friends that are fighting the same fight I am and connecting with fine quality Americans like yourselves that have served a purpose in life. We as Marines serve that purpose and the Marines that follow will do the same. Two of my sons are also Marines. I know the true meaning of once A Marine always a Marine. It is showing in my training i AM DOING TODAY AND ALSO SHOWS IN THE DESCIPLINE IT TAKES TO EAT HEALTHY. The work outs are easy compared to mental awareness of eating healthy.
  • So I realized I did not sound off myself<-- opps!

    1. If this were a week I would be on thurday moring so I am over the hump of my 50 lbs goal.
    2. I plan on establishing maybe a 20 lbs goal at some point to loose, but mostly I am looking forward to real visible ABS normal blood presure and a twenty year old in good shape not a 43 year old out of shape.
    3. Continue to motivate 400 facebook friends and family, and the occasional stranger.
