Marathon training plan

I need a 6 month marathon training plan that I can fit in around a full time job with only 2 days off a week, never the same two and never together - any idea anyone?

Have you ever run a Marathon before? Do you ONLY plan to run the two days that you're off? Do you currently run?0

Most marathon training plans include only 1 long run per week - you can move that 1 run to any day of the week you'd like, and move it weekly if needed to coincide with a off work-day, you'd just need to look at your other runs for the week and avoid doing a hard run or a speed run the day before or after your long run. All your other daily runs during the week should fit around a full time job.0

I still run the days that I work, I assume you are planning to as well. Put your long runs on your day off, whenever it comes up, and schedule your other runs for work days. I run M-W-F-Sa. Sa is my only day off work, the other days I run early morning.

i work a ****ty roster, and i always try to do my long run on my 1st day off. that way, it's out of the way. i always amend my other days to fit in around that. sometimes that means i end up doing a long run every 5 days, but that can give me a break of about 8 days later down the track, which is psychologically and physically gratifying. the other thing i may do for my long run is to run home from work. it gets it to fit in without taking up another day (but that's only if my roster is properly cocked up).
i also try to fit my shorter runs in around work. this often means getting up at 0430 for an hours run (my 5 mile time) before my shift starts at 7am.
essentially you just have to find a way to prioritise the run and fit it in wherever it will go!
good luck. i hope you find your workable answer.0 -
I've adopted Hal Higdon's "Novice Supreme" plan to only run three times a week.

Always do the long run come what may on one of your days off. Do one of the longer mid-week runs on your other day off and squeeze in one other run on a work day before or after work or in your lunch hour. This one can be less than an hour. Cross-train when you can and Bob's your uncle!
Good luck!0
