I became an athlete at the age of 42 when I started rowing with a local club. After rowing a few years I lost a friend to cancer and was inspired to establish the Portland Row for the Cure. That was 18 years ago. I challenge you to learn to row and find a Row for the Cure event in your part of the country. The money raised at each regatta benefits the local affiliate of Susan G. Komen. There are indoor events and water regattas as well. Many water events include kayaks, canoes, dragon boats and outrigger canoes. I'm happy to help you find or establish your own Row for the Cure.
