Ran first marathon 12/09 and after getting bored with just running I did my first tri May 2010 and hooked. I am scared and excited all at the same time! I live in Dallas, TX :flowerforyou:

Wow, you're braver than me! I'm starting with a super-sprint this year and working my way up! Good luck with your training!0

For extra motivation you may want to read, You Are An Iron Man. Author does a nice job of following five iron men from decision to finish line. Bottom line, we are all nuts.:happy:0

Wow! Training for an ironman is a wonderful (and crazy...but in an admirable way) goal!
I just did a quick search and here are some possibly useful links:

Awesome! I'm going for a half Iron distance this year. Did the marathon thing got bored, did a sprint tri and fell in love, now it's all about farther!0

awesome! a good friend of mine does them-he started with them-and he swears by the distance! at the race we all do there are fewer people registered so fewer people swim on top of you and annoying things like that! Happy training!0

Good luck - which one are you doing?
You'll love it. I'm doing numbers 4 and 5 this year with a 5 week gap in between.
Did my first sprint triathlon as work bet, got hooked and did my first ironman 11 months later.
Yep - nuts!0
