I'm Alix, an 18 year old girl, and new to MFP. I am a honors physics major at my university, and triple minoring in education, maths, and communications. I am also an activist in the atheist, intactivist, feminist, and gay/transgendered rights movements, and an aspiring astrophysicist and political activist. I am also diagnosed with schizophrenia, BED, BPD, kleptomania, and mild OCD. I am a slew of crazy. I need support both for my weight loss and my mental health, so I decided to join MFP. Hopefully I'll be able to manage both of these things with help from this site. :)

    Hi Alix! Wow, seems like you have a lot on your plate right now. I think you're crazy, but for reasons completely unrelated to your mental health! :) This is a great site, and also I really like this group in particular because we can be completely open about things that we may otherwise keep bottled up.     Welcome to MFP and the support group Alix! You really do have a lot going on in your life! Despite all of your diagnoses, you are doing so many remarkable things! I believe you'll be able to do this too, and I'm happy to help anyway I can.

    This is a really great site/group. You have a good support system :wink:

    Hi Alix.

    I am making inroads in both areas. If you are as passionate about atheism, etc. our beliefs directly conflict. That said, I am happy to support you with the weight loss and mental health.

    Our beliefs are our strength, so I don't think we need to go there anyway (I do occasionally, but only on my profile and 'what worked for me' - can't help telling someone if they ask).

    Concentrate on improving in the areas that you are weak is my advice.

    Hi Alix, I'm diagnosed with schizophrenia also. I'm not happy you have this illness but I am happy to find someone with the same illness as me on here. :D

    Wow what a load, sounds like some pretty cool stuff you're doing though! Hope this site helps you out, it's a really great tool! Best of luck to you!
