Just wondering if this group has any matches or group play? I am new to MFP and trying to extend my circle of friends to those who have fitness and health in mind like me!

Apologies, just go around to reading the Tennis Junkies group. Not sure what you mean by having matches or group play. Can you elaborate?
As for me, most of my tennis matches/play is through the local tennis leagues here in Atlanta. Right now, its winter time so there is not a lot of enthusiasm from the weekend player. Therefore, I'm only involved with three leagues. Later, it will be with four leagues.
Losing weight, with the help of MFP, will help me reach that 4.0 level and later 4.5 level goals.
Seriously, how many really heavy people do you see playing at 3.5?
Also, how many chubby people do you see playing at 4.0/4.5?

Wow - 3 leagues in the winter. That's no joke. Is the USTA gaining any ground or is alta still the best option.0

ALTA (Atlanta Lawn Tennis Association) is very social oriented. Not as competitive as other leagues. People usually get together for fun and drinks.
USTA and Ultimate Tennis (a.k.a. KSwiss) are much more serious and are very good at weeding out those who sandbag.
Other leagues, League Tennis, is new and is similar to Ultimate Tennis. Both are flex leagues which works for most people's schedules.
There are many other leagues in the Atlanta area, some are flex and some are team based. A lot of the flex leagues have also adopted doubles and mix doubles as well.0
