Stretching hip abductors (outsides of hips)?

I do a cable hip abduction exercise (see this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pvnR8CDb4BU)
I find that I am quite stiff and struggle to do the exercise properly, or to the required reps. So I think this is from riding - but I haven`t noticed if there`s a difference if I`ve ridden dressage or jumping or length of time etc. the day before.
But does anyone have any suggestions for good stretches? This would also help for those awful charlie-horse-type spasms I get sometimes when I`ve first gotten on.

No suggestions but have the same issue...loved having a physical therapist do deep tissue massage on those spots. I have a roller tube that I rock back and forth on. Kills me.0

Good question. My personal trainer was trying to teach me one the other day, but I wasn't quite getting the hang of it. I do use the foam roller on my IT band, though, so maybe I should roll on my hips while I'm at it. You're right ridewithless, those rollers work great, but they are excruciating!0
