I like my porridge. At the moment it is Jordans Jumbo Oats (half a cup) with a cup of skimmed milk , shredded pear or apple and cinamon.

Sometimes it is 2 slices of bacon (boiled not fried) with a poached egg and half a tin of baked beans.

What is yoru fav breakfast?

Old fashioned Scottish porridge - oatmeal, water, salt. Or fruit salad with natural yogurt.

    Pancakes!!

Some on MFP had them in her diary all the time so i started to make them too....

    50gms Self raising flour
    100ml Skimmed milk
    1 large egg

The mixtures lasts two days and i make 4 mini pancakes each morning. I love mine with 1/5 tsp of golden syrup total of 178 cals a day :-)

Yuck, wish I could like porridge but I just can't. yuck yuck yuck.

Love scrambled or poached eggs on toast . Mostly just cereal when at work, or a yogurt.

OMG, pancakes. I might have to make some tomorrow.

Anna_43. I have never in my life heard of boiling bacon. Only ever grilled or fried. Honestly would never occur to me to boil it.

Ususally I have Alpen Muesli No Added Sugar or scrambles eggs on toast.
    Mmm Mmmmm
  • My favourite breakfast is an egg and bacon roll, but that was part of the reason that I ended up on MFP! Now that's only an occasional treat.

I'm not much of a breakfast person, I have to force myself to eat it. My favourite healthy breakfast would probably be porridge with raspberry jam, honey and cinnamon with a herbal tea.

I try not to eat bread at all. I have ryvita or crispbread or oatcakes instead.

The weird thing is I sould never have a normal bread s/w without butter and when I am using ryvita or crispbread or oat cakes - never have butter on thise so double gain ;)

Boiled bacon - trying to avoid fried stuff so just boil it... surely taste is not the same but hey - those calories.. and I actually quite like it boiled - fat boils out too.....

Will start a separate topic on luch and dinner I think, nice to know what other people eat, pick some ideas :)

    Thanks for posting

fruit smoothie good way to eat things like berries which i don't like except in a smoothie with soya milk and mix berries with different fruits. or smoothie with natural yogurt and oats with honey. I would love a fry up cook healthly but veggie sasauges have 2x your recommended salt portion for the day so has veggie bacon and i don't eat egg.

Weetabix with sliced banana, drizzle of date syrup, tablespoon of milled flaxseed with semi-skimmed or rice milk. Very tasty and sets me up for the morning!

In the summer I tend to have smoothies with banana, raspberry, strawberry, copella apple and elderflower juice, passionfruit and vanilla essence. They taste like my favourite "Pornstar Martini" cocktails. NOM!

Coconut Oil is VERY worth trying it is amazing. Read this

And then buy organic raw off one click pharmacy and start drowning in / stuffing yourself with the stuff!

Not sure... I don't tend to log it as you only need a very small amount for a couple of eggs.

My half kilo tub has probably lasted me six months, sometimes use it to cook my meat too... it's a taste sensation.

Update: It's 900cals per 100g but you probably would only use 1-2g for scrambled eggs!

Porridge, made with milk. Add some blueberries, chopped apricots and a little honey. Delicious!
