Hi all,
I just joined the site. I am a type 1 diabetic who is interested in eating healthier exercising more and avoiding diabetic complications. I am 45 yrs old, and a Type 1 Diabetic for 23 years. I live in Winnipeg, Canada and am married with young 2 kids. I have been fortunate to not have any diabetic complications through hard work, diligence and probably a little luck.
I am hoping to connect with a few other type 1's as I use the site to eat better and exercise more.
Although I think I eat reasonably healthy, I want to track my food to get a better understanding of what I am eating. I also want to track my exercise to better motivate myself to keep at it.
Feel free to friend me if you are interested in sharing advice on nutrition, exercise and Type 1 diabetes.
PS I also joined the Type 1 diabetes Group on these forums.
Best regards,
Tim

Hi, Guys I made my original post a week ago and thought I scared everyone off with my Futurama Avatar LOL
As an aside I am getting a new meter today which I am told is not yet available in the US. This is rare for us Canadians. Supposedly designed for Insulin users. Its called the One Touch Verio IQ. May not be great for pump users as I don't think it has any special functions. I am a MDI user and it is supposed to have some forecasting. I am somewhat skeptical but curious to try it. Also looks like an ipod instead of the usual ugly black.
Google Verio IQ if you want to see what it looks like.
Best regards

Let us know how you like it - I've seen info about it, but can't get it yet (in the USA!)0
