Can someone confirm my figures please?

Hi all!
I've been on MFP since the beginning of October last year. I've done pretty well starting at 183lbs, and have lost
to date 24lbs, now down to 158lbs. I'm 5ft 3 and am aiming for the 140lbs region so still have a little way to go.
I was told about this method when asking for help querying calculations, and to be honest it sounds much simpler and more
suited to my lifestyle.
So... here's my calculations from what I can work out... Please can someone let me know if I'm on the right track?
So my BMR is 1,429.
My maintenance is 1,790.
So my exercise allowance before having to eat back the cals is 572.
Am I right in thinking that I am aiming to eat 1,429 each day, and then burn 572cal daily to see an average loss of 2lbs per week?
And this would give me a total of 1000 "green cals" .
And if I had a big exercise day, if I burn more than 572, I would need to eat them all back so I maintain this magic 1000 number?
Many thanks to anyone who can give me a nod in the right direction! I'm very excited to try this out and hopefully it'll
shake things up nicely for me :flowerforyou:

Your math is still right.
Small clarification: if you burn more than 572 calories, you don't have to eat them ALL back. You only have to eat back enough to get that green number down to 1000.
So if you burn 600 calories, the green number will be 1028. You could have a small snack that day or shoot to have your green number be 950 tomorrow.
If you burn 800 calories, the green number will be 1228. You'll want to eat at least 228 back.0 -

Thank you for explaining that and confirming the figures for me. Am ready to tackle this new method for a couple of weeks and see what impact it has.
Long Sunday stroll here I come! :laugh:0 -
You are right on track with your thoughts, but I just wanted to add one thing. The closer we get to our goal weights, the more...unrealistic?...it is to try to lose 2 pounds per week. If you can and it works for you, great! I just don't want you to be disappointed if you can only lose 0.5 to 1.0 pounds per week at this stage of the game.0
