How long to workout each day

before moving and getting a new job I was able to workout 2.5-3 hrs a day 6 times a week . Now I am finding that with sharing a home with someone else and needing at least 7 hrs a night I am lucky to get 1.5 in each day. I used to just workout at home in my basement. Now I have to do all my working out for an hr in the morning but only at a time so that I do not wake my boyfriend and at the gym and can not really do more than 40-60 min there. I need to be home to cook dinner and am the type that gets sick if I workout after eating. I dont really want to have to cut my calories anymore ( i only eat about 1800 a day) but am scared that with changing my workout length i will gain weight. How long do all of you workout and how many calories do you eat a day? ( i do know that we are not all the same and that i cant base everything on everyone else but I would like a general idea what everyone else does)

I do anything from nothing to the 30ds to a 1.5hr at the gym. it depends on my day, how I feel & how early I get in from work. For me personally I prefer to totally kill myself for 1 hr & get an 800+cal burn out than do alot of lower burn exercise over a longer period of time. I work & have kids so I just don't have the time or the space, the 30ds is workingo ut great for me on the days I get in too late to go to the gym but I still prefer the gym.

Have you looked into hiit training, I've never done it but I hear good things, short high intensity bursts that you could do twice a day in 30-40 minutes time slots? Any option to cycle or jog outside when your bf is sleeping?

Just one question though how loud can you be exercising? I do it with a 4 year old asleep in the next room & he never wakes, have you talked to your bf about your exercising & how to fit it around both of your schedules so he isn't disturbed but you still get the workout you want or need?

I workout for a half hour every day. I eat 1400-1600 cals a day. Most times I dont eat my workout cals back, or if I do, it's very few. But I'm only burning about 300 a workout. Yet, it works very well for me.

I work out up to 90 mins a day, primarily cardio, and I eat back 200 calories for every 30 mins worked out. I end up eating 1800 calories a day and lose 1.5 - 2 lbs a week.

I am unable to run in the morning during this time of the year. I live in Ohio along the lake in a city . Mornings are extremely windy and dangerous to run outside, plus it is still dark here till about 7:30 am and I start my work day at 7am.

We live in a very old house and the walls are thin and floorboards are extremely loud. Once we are able to get a new place this should not be a problem but for right now it is.

Oh and yes i do some hiit training

When I was working out 45-60 minutes a day (and eating more carbs) I was gaining weight. Now I lift with a trainer twice a week for 60 minutes and do cardio 5 to 7 days a week for between 45 and 120+ minutes depending on the day and how much time I have. I think the difference now is I am eating more protein and fat (almonds, etc) and fewer carbs (bread and muffins) and my workouts are more varied.

I work out for about 40 minutes 6 days a week. Usually running most days and volleyball twice a week on different rec leagues. Unfortunately volleyball season is almost over, so it will be mostly running.
