Never been clubbing - What do you take?

Like the title says, I've never been out clubbing. I've always considered that the city nightlife is sort of meant for the young and the beautiful. I've been invited out but I have no idea where we're going, what to wear and what are some necessary items I will need to have? Does everyone take deodorant? I'm paranoid I'll sweat and smell. I shower all the time, and don't have a BO problem.. but I don't know what happens.. Gah!

You won't get into any clubs with an aerosol can.

Take plenty of cash (you don't want to get stuck using their cashout facilities -- high fees), a lip gloss to reapply when needed, but I don't recommend mascara/eyeliner touchups if you've been drinking -- you'll only give yourself panda eyes.

Take a small clutch purse, not your usual handbag, and try to avoid jackets. There's usually not many places to sit, to be careful what shoes you choose. Take plenty of cash, try to not take your card so you can't overspend.

Don't forget your ID!
