Hello and WELCOME to MFP and the Oklahoma Group / Room.

My best advice would be to be Consistent, Log In Every Day, Track what you eat and your Exercise--even if it is 17 pieces of Pizza or a Big Mac Meal. Success is a Journey and it does not require being "Perfect" every day, just making Good Choices Most of the Time!

    :flowerforyou: Good Luck!!

Agree.. be consistant and log every day. Even if it seems to get frustrating and feels like it's no fun keep with it. Eventually it will becomes habit and you will hopefully enjoy it then. I know I do! Don't get down on yourself if you are over your calories sometimes either, just get right back on track and brush it off. I do suggest to that when possible to measure/weight your food at first. I never realized until I started doing so that I was either eating way more than I thought or not near as much. Eating to little can sabatoge you too. Eventually you will get used to the portions and not have to weigh or measure them on a regular basis. All and all this is a great place to learn and help yourself. Best of Luck!!!

I second what the others have said - log everything even if it makes your cringe. Also, get the most out of this site that you can. Use the forums, friends, view oer diaries, support others, utilize recipes, etc.

Welcome and good luck first of all. I feel that lots and lots of water are more helpful than you may think, also stay away from as much processed foods and fast foods as possible. The Soduim in these will surprise you. Take it in steps to get to where you want to be at on a calorie level.....trying to do it from day one is so hard. Look at other food diaries of people that are doing well and see what works for you.
