The zumba workout inspires me to push harder, though insanity just crushes me down. I'm starting week two of insanity, I always tend to pause the video and then resume to continue so I don't miss anything. Is that a good idea or should I just rest and try and get into the groove?

I think pausing is fine. Mix it up, do both. That's what I would do when I was doing P90X. Keep going though. You will be glad you did.
