State collegiate coach salaries

I saw this recently and was floored - I'm using the University of Texas at Austin as an example because the figures are readily available. I'm probably too naive to make any true assessments (I don't know how much athletics actually pull in for the university as a whole) but still...is this discrepancy in salary common at other schools?

I think it's messed up that college coaches make so much money but the football players are not paid. It's why I don't support or watch college football.0

Ya, its pretty amazing how much money these guys make. I wish the NCAA would imose on themselves a cap and send the rest of the money to pay for all of the students involved in all sports, music, and the arts to attend college. That to me would be very patriotic. (never gonna happen, but I would love it if they did)
