Aquaerobics and Men

Hi all,
as well as having plenty still to lose despite being approaching 8 stones down, I have an exercise handicap - last March, I tore the right quadriceps muscle from my right knee at the tendon, as well as damaging a bunch of other stuff in there. I am walking pretty well again but there are some things I am unlikely ever to be able to do - so I am looking for forms of exercise which won't put me at risk of a repeat injury and, ideally, strengthen the knee at the same time. Aquaerobics seems to fit the bill but, having asked (female) friends who attend such classes, it would appear that it is very much a ladies' domain and the few brave guys who do show rarely stick at it for long. Zumba (not that I could do such movements, at least at the moment) seems to be much the same - it appears that the ladies there think the guys only go to perve their hot bodies and don't like the guys to be there.

Ladies, thoughts? Guys, advice? I realise that, at least for now as I am still almost 20 stones, the ladies wouldn't be wanting me there to perve at, but I don't want to come across as a creep. I would be doing the exercise for me, not for cheap thrills.

Aquaerobics was mainly women, but if men don't start going, then how will more men start going?! lol there were a few men in our group when I used to go and we never noticed they were there to be honest. It's not as though we all spend the whole time chatting or looking each other. We spend too much time concentrating on what the instructor's doing and what we're meant to be doing!
