I don't know what happened... but it seems like all of a sudden I went from having the sniffles to a water fountain like running nose, headache, cough and when I stand I get extemely dizzy.

The only thing I've taken is Tylenol because I'm to scared to take anything else.. could someone please reccommend something that won't affect my supply or hurt my lo.

Thanks in advance ladies . :flowerforyou:

Lots of vitamin c! I don't know about medication because I'm in New Zealand so everything is named different things over here. Over here the pharmacist has a big list of things that are ok or not ok while breastfeeding so I usually go and ask them to find me something I can take.
    Feel better soon.

You can take ibuprofen or Tylenol. Most decongestants will also cause a dip in supply -- if you have an older baby and a pretty strong supply, that may not be a huge problem, but I've not done it.

If you have specific meds you are wondering about, googling that medication along with "breastfeeding" and the name "Hale" will often pull up Dr Hale's recommendations. He wrote Medications and Mother's Milk, and they put out new editions regularly to keep up with new meds and new findings on the old ones. All the drugs are rated for how much they go into your milk, and how harmful it might be to the baby if it does. It gives REALLY good info, and for drugs that should be avoided, it usually suggests safer alternatives. Naturally double check any info, and be wary of online info *of course* but it's not a bad place to start.

I have access to a copy of Hale's, so if you have a med in mind I can get back to you with that.

    Feel better!!
