So I joined meetup.com and looked at the singles groups. It seems there is going to be a lock and key party soon. Has anyone gone to one before?

For anyone that doesn't know what they are here is the link http://www.lockandkeyevents.com/index.php?fuseaction=home.about

I went to one years ago. It was fun. I met a guy. Had one date but nothing came out of it. It's great because you have an excuse to talk to anyone there. But i will say It's awkward when people want to give their number to someone you are talking to.

I went to one. It was kind of funny. I think it's easier to talk to people because you can just approach to ask to try the key, but at the same time, people want to win the prize so they may just go around to everyone and not really stay to chat. I was disappointed because the one I went to was supposed to be 32-50 I think. I was on the low end and a lot of people there looked very "seasoned", some even much more than 50. I would do it again but probably with a lower age range. I actually tend to relate more to people in the 20s than 40's especially when there are lots of marriages or grown children, it makes your perspective different. But to me, I think the lock and key is less daunting than speed dating. It is just like a mingle or party. But the odds could be good, but the goods odd as well.
