So ladies we are at the start of this round thanks to Rach so thought I would put a challenge out there if anyone is interested....

50 PUSH UPS!!!

Do them all at once or split them up throughout the day. Maybe do 5 sets of 10 or 10 sets of 5.

Do them against the wall, on your knees or solid proper form pushups.

Proper push up form - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zF0jbubK_jU

What do you say? Are you up to the challenge? :flowerforyou:

I'm in. I'm at work right now, but will do them at the gym tonight. Will aim for 25 'man' ones and see how I go for the rest!

May I be difficult and do mine today instead? LOL, I was thinking about splitting my strength training this week and doing upper body today. I guess no one would know the difference unless they look at my log. I'll try full on toes (though I doubt that I can do 50) and do the rest as on knee or walls pushups.

Thanks for the challenge! I have a long day of sitting at the desk tomorrow, doing a lot of little sets will break up my day and get me moving every hour. :)

Sounds Good - I'll be doing mine tonight 10 proper ones, 40 on the knees ^_^
  • I'm in - I actually did 2 sets of 20 "girly" pushups yesterday for the first time in months - so YES totally up for the challenge!!

Do we report back? I did my 50, I tried on toes (broken up into sets of 10 and spread out). I managed 40 on toes (though some at the tail end of the later sets were a little shallow), and my final set was all on the knees with a good range of motion.

I'll try to do as many as I can without causing a setback. I've got arm/neck issues and pushups can put me over the edge and cause quite a bit of pain for me for days. I'll see how many I can sneak in a bit at a time during the day.
  • Got 20 in so far going to do another 30 before my yoga workout later

Ladies this is great so many of you up for the challenge!!

I did mine this morning and pushed through even though my shoulders were burning from training yesterday!! I did sets of 10 on my toes with a short rest in between.

Report back and let us know how you get on!

Maybe think about doing this challenge every day for the week or maybe even the month and see how much progress you can make!

To do really proper form, I think they're going to have to be on my knees. First set now, second set after shower, three more sets at the gym. And I think I'll match it with fifty extra sit-ups.
