The quality of our politics reflects the quality of the electorate. The only reason these people do what they do is because it has been proven to work.

The combination of economic policies since 1980 and changes in technology that have enhance globalization have caused --whether intentional or not--a dramatic concentration of wealth into the hands of a tiny minority of Americans. The Citizens Untied decision by the SCOTUS has made it possible for this minority to exert huge influence on our politics, our campaigns, and our government.

Something like 25 donors have provided almost all the money for romney's super PAC. One man and his wife have bankrolled Newt Gingrich's campaign. The Koch brothers have already offered to contribute $60 million to the republican nominee.

Some are predicting that scott walker in Wisconsin will spend $100 million to fight his recall election.

Unfortunately now that roberts and alito performed their assigned duties in Citizens United, it's going to take a new SCOTUS or a constitutional amendment to reverse this trend.

Right now, I see our elections as more civil war than democratic discussions. Others have chosen to make it such, and so my only recourse is to fight.
