Grip strength

I'm getting really frustrated at the moment by my lack of grip to stay on the bar for pullups and ttb etc. My strength is there in the rest of my body to do more reps but my grip gives out first, so I was wondering if any of you have had a similar issue and can suggest something that's worked for you. One of the trainers at my gym has suggested doing wrist curls with dumbells and squeezing a sponge ball which I'm trying.

    Another great grip strength tool is to do monkey bar type drills. Our competition team has been working on it by doing negative pullups (the slow controlled movement forces you to hold on to the bar longer) and to do bar walks (hand walk down the bar both side-to-side and swinging forward and backward).

    Also, I would do this drill:

    12 min on the clock.
    As many pullups as you can unbroken. If you fall from the bar, you must take a 30 sec. rest.
    Score = total pullups done
