ER PEOPLE!

Hello fellow ER nurses! I am in sunny SC. Glad to meet other nurses trying to care for themselves at the same time we care for everyone else. I try to keep a big bottle of water with me at my desk, and my goal is to drink 2 a shift (almost never happens, but usually drink at least one.) I have some co-workers that always have healthy snacks - almonds, fruit, jerky. Things that can be kept in small containers or be eaten quickly, and are better than processed. I try to bring food from home and not buy from the cafeteria (because we know there is nothing really good there!) Just some things that I am trying. I agree, it is hard to watch what you eat when you are running crazy throughout the day, and then don't feel like making anything once you get home after a long shift. For dinners - smoothies! Very fast to make and seems more like a treat at the end of a long day. Add some protein powder and you are good to go!
