I went to a networking event today. I ended up meeting a great guy, we had several hilarious conversations about travel, family, and facebook. He grabbed my card and end of story. Guess I need to go to the next one and see if he is there again, I didn't get his details, even to make a superficial connection.

You guys have any tips for me for the next one?

"You're really a lot of fun! I'd love to talk more with you about _____ or hear about your experiences in __________, are you up for a drink next Friday night?"

More simply - "do you drink? yes? ok, there's this great pub i go to occasionally, care to join me friday night?"

or, at a professional networking event... "i really need to make my rounds and be sure i haven't missed anyone here, how about we continue this conversation in a more casual setting. how's drinks at Sherlock's this Friday?"

You're the woman. In my experience, it's up to the guy to seal the deal. If you were charming and caught his attention, he'll find a way to contact you.

Great tips everyone. I am good at small talk. Never good at hinting about next steps...... Because unfortunately, I initiate small talk with anyone, interesting or not.

Although, this is probably the best networking group I have ever joined! Lots of good connections and eye candy! :P

Either I'll figure out my business idea or make some new friends.
