Anyone playing this one? I'm intrigued and will most likely get it for PC real soon. Just wondering what anyone's thoughts are who are currently playing.

I just played through the demo last night. At first I was a bit hesitant and wasn't blown away by it, but after a bit I realized I was having a blast. It's fun to fight and I'm a huge explorer so I enjoyed the ability to look in the hidden corners and find a treasure chest.
I also really liked the weapons so far. The idea of switching your weapon to suit your situation, not necessarily your preferred fighting style, intrigued me.
I love high fantasy. I honestly kind of wish the main character had a voice in this game though. I'm often in favor of having a silent protagonist, but in this game I felt like a voice may have added to the experience. But again that is just coming from playing the demo.
I'll definitely pick the game up, just maybe once it drops in price a bit. We'll see if I can hold out that long0 -
My copy is arriving today along with Twisted Metal. I still have FFXIII-2 unopened too. Not sure which game to play first.0

I usually try to run through the shorter games first. I'm assuming Twisted Metal would be the shortest of the three being that FFXIII-2 and Amalur are going to be 30+ hours (assumption). I haven't played any of the three so you're at least a step ahead of me by owning them! :happy:0 -
Twisted Metal's story mode is pretty short, but the online play might be addicting. I was always a huge fan of the series in my high school days. I will more than likely start with that though.0

I'm hoping to snag a pre-owned copy for 360... someone better trade one in soon lol0

I played the demo before it released (PS3 version.) It was cool, but it wasn't $60 cool. I'll wait for the price to drop on it.0

Just picked it up three days ago and really dig it. I thought the controls were gonna be clunky on the PC but it turned out to be pretty intuitive. Love the class / fighting system, so many different possible builds. TBH I'm having a blast with this game. Best way I would describe this is a love child between Skyrim, God of War and RIFT. Except they took the best elements of each and left out the crap. One of the best action/RPG hybrids I've played in a while. They managed to strike a perfect balance between keeping the combat fresh while delivering a true RPG experience. Crafting is actually pretty fun and not a chore like in Skyrim. As mentioned before, there's a lot of nooks and crannys to explore and tons of treasure chests (that actually have rare/epic gear in them) hidden away on the world map (which itself is quite huge). The best part is there's a skill you can choose that have hidden treasure chest location sshow up in the minimap, so hunting them down is a breeze. Finally, each dungeon I've been in so far is pretty unique, so kudos for that.
Some minor gripes:
-level cap is pretty low (40) but I actually appreciate the fact that enemies don't scale with you ala Bethesda games (this just feels lazy to me).
-Quests and story in general are rather bland.
-Can't change the graphics settings beyond Post-Processing [enabled] or [disabled]. In short, your game is either gonna look amazing or really crappy.
-for the most part this game is too easy
CLIFFS:
Very pleasantly surprised. More enjoyable than expected. Skyrim officially on hold.0 -
I'm interested but it's now bumped down low on my list. I talked with a gamer friend about it who got it and she said and I quote:
"I was really interested in KoA, but have been frustrated - it looks like a 3d world but it's SO 2d - you can't jump down the smallest bit, have to go around things, way too many invisible walls. After the open world of Skyrim, oy."
So, I'm a jumper. I jump all the time in WoW. Especially when we take AFKs during raids and I don't have anything to do, I'll just strafe and jump. In Skyrim, I jump off of steps, mountains, hills...etc. I'm not fond of games where I can't jump. It makes me a sad panda.
I'll probably still get it but not right now.0 -
My brother was just telling me about this.
He really likes it and was trying to get me to buy it. I'm playing SWTOR right now though and dont have time for another game.
He loves the open world, says its bigger than Skyrim. I love crafting and he said the crafting system is great.
I love to jump, too and have always been disappointed when my spacebar does nothingSo I totally understand that. However it wouldnt stop me from playing a great game.
I may get into this but not till the game goes for cheap on Steam.0 -

Very helpful/informative. Thanks!
I was already going to wait to pick it up, but this just confirms that doing so wouldn't be a bad choice. I do want to play it and it will definitely be worth it to grab.0
