Has anyone progressed from relapsing and remitting to secondary progressive MS? The opportunity to catch the disease early was missed in my wife (positive MRI ignored by neurologist in 99, found it when I was gathering records for our current doctors) and we cant tell if the relapses have left symptoms or if there is no real remission anymore. Any insight would be appreciated.

No, I am still RRMS and have been problably since the early 80's but not diagnosed until 2008.
Have you logged onto the mssociety website? The one in Canada mssociety.ca is really helpful and there is a Q & A portion where they list all kinds of questions that people have had and the answerrs - or you can ask a new question. The site is monitored by MS docs and the answers are well thought out and very straight forward. You might also want to check with your local chapter of the MS Society and see if there is an MS support group in your area. Sometimes you get a lot of things answered just by sitting with a group of people who have been there.
Keep being an advocate for your wife and hang in there. You aren't alone.
