David Frum vs Charles Murray--A Rational Conservative

Being an analytical guy, I find it more and more difficult to find intelligent commentary written by conservatives. Don't get me wrong--there are plenty of intelligent conservatives, but most who communicate in the public arena seem to me to devote their abilities solely to glib rationalizations of republican talking points. If you are looking for any hint rational insight from a different perspective, or of civic responsibility, they are virtually unreadable.
David Frum is kind of growing on me. He first came to wide public attention in 2008 when he was one of the first republican conservatives to come out and say that Sarah Palin was unqualified to be President.
I haven't read a lot of his stuff, but what I have suggests that he might provide some conservative viewpoints that I would actually think were worth listening to.
In this link, he reviews Charles Murray's new book "Coming Apart". Like other links I have posted recently, it is a longer read. But I think it is worthwhile. It's more book review than Frum's own views on the subject, but he adds enough that is worth considering IMO.
Not sure if this is really a "debate" topic, but I just wanted to steer people into something I thought might be interesting.

That's the beginning--there are 5 parts.

I'll have to check this out later. A rational, moderate anything would appeal to me greatly, but sadly it seems they are non-existant for whatever reasons.0
