Has anyone used a Thundershirt, it is supposedly "The Best Dog Anxiety Treatment". I have a seven year Great Dane who just hates the wind blowing through the vents in the house, always has. If any of you have used one of these with your pet I would be interested in your review of the product. Thank you in advance.

I've never used one but a good friend of mine bought one for her pit bull who is absolutely terrified of storms and fireworks and she said it has helped tremendously. She said she is no longer a nervous wreck during storms and the fireworks during new years eve didn't bother her either.

I thought they were a load of crap but she swears it helped her dog.

I have a dog with bad thunderstorm phobia. I use a product called Composure...you can get it on line at Amazon...my dog was on 2 different anti-anxiety meds and this product is completely natural. You can also double or triple the dose b/c it is all natural. I have asked a couple of people about the thundershirt and everyone has seen positive results.

Yes, they work for MANY dogs. I have lots of friends in rescue with multiple dogs and they use them pretty frequently. I don't know if it will help your Dane with fear of wind noise, but I would give it as try. You could also try wrapping him in an Ace bandage wrap in a figure 8 (over back, cross under stomach, between front legs and cross at the chest, tie to the back). However, with such a big dog, I'd think the more overall pressure you can give him, the calmer he'd be, and an Ace wrap just isn't that big.
