I have Borderline Personality Disorder, Anorexia, and what is believed to also be Rapid Cycling BiPolar, type II. So, I often find myself thrown into random episodes of anxiety, and random episodes of depression.

I started taking a combination of B12 (1,500mg), Fish oils (they stabilize moods, if you get the DHA/EPA in the correct ratios), and Sam-E. That combination has dramatically lessened my anxiety, lessened my depression, and even improved my sleep habits.

If you struggle with Anxiety, I suggest looking at Valerian Root, and Melatonin (in VERY low doses, unless you are using it to sleep)!

I take a vitamin B complex supplement to help with my anxiety. It doesn't work like a prescription does, but I do think it helps some.

I've taken it, I don't think it does anything. Most multivitamins have b vitamins in them anyway.
  • I am on statin drugs for cholesterol and a new European antidepressant. I have to have a blood check every three months for liver activity and my doctor insists I need more B vitamins. So far, am relying on the ones in the multi.
  • Update: called my doctor and she told me that the Vit B complex is to combat the possibility that I am developing anemia. However, my therapist recommended Vit D to boost effects of the antidepressant. For what its worth. (I am not a doctor!)

Most people have low vitamin D (I do). I take a supplement.
  • So do I. Vit D and Vit B complex. Plus the multi and also fish oil. Gahhh, the pleasures of age!
