Dates.... and weight loss?

This week I didn't lose anything. Here's why:

Sunday night I had a first date with a boy (whom I really like) at Chili's. I made a good meal choice, but we did share both an appetizer and dessert.
Tuesday night I had a second date with same boy. We had breakfast for dinner (in honor of National Pancake Day). I will not confess what I ate, but it included pancakes.
Wednesday night I had a date with a different boy (with whom I've already ended communication). We played minigolf and had Thai food for dinner.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining  , but at this rate I'm wondering how in the world I'll ever lose weight again. Maybe two date boy will turn into a relationship so we can settle into that happy movie at my place and cooking dinner phase, lol. Seriously, how does one balance it? I really think at least some of my success can be attributed to my singleness thus far.

Try different date ideas that don't involve food!
    - walk in a park/nature center
    - going to a movie (no movie treats)
    - going to the bar (drink one drink, then switch to water)
    - bowling, shooting range, ice skating
    - concert
    - museum

Then after don't go for food! Or go for a drink (probably less calories than dinner if you order something simple!) afterwards!

    I hear ya!!

I've been eating salads on dates. Boring. And most restaurant salads are unhealthy as it is.... :ohwell:

Tomorrow we're going to dinner so I'll eat something light. Then we're going for drinks and I plan to drink diet coke/ jack or rum.

I'm just jealous you had THREE dates in one week. I haven't had three dates in the last year.

It's tough to lose weight while eating out! Even the "healthy selections" seem so unhealthy!! This is gonna sound lame, but if I can't burn off enough calories beforehand, then I just eat a small something (but unique or tasty so I don't feel deprived) like an appetizer. When I get home if I'm still hungry I will get something healthy to eat or a protein shake.

    yay for you!

LOL! Me too! I have had outings with a male friend, and that is it.

The opposite happens to me! I get so nervous or engrossed in conversation that I hardly eat!
I've also gone on a couple of hiking dates, which were pretty cool. I get to burn some calories :)

It seems like a lot of socializing involves food. Really does make me want to avoid dates as well as hanging with my girlfriends. I suggest non food activities but still seems to go that way. I have a hard time resisting when everyone else is indulging. I try to do it once a week at most and stick to a coffee or light beer kind of date otherwise. Definitely hard, but good for you on all those dates!

how about the motivating fact that eating less on a date or with your friends keeps your stomach looking flatter, lol!

Two things I hate about dating:
    Ruins diet
Completely screws up my financial budget. My budget is very tight at the moment...really no wiggle room. And dating just screws up everything.

going on dates doesn't always have to involve eating. I've been on dates where we'd walk on the beach and lay on the sand and talk. even just coffee is good. a full meal doesn't mean the date is worth it to a woman. We're no after your wallets... The best dates I had were as the ones above. no pressure, low cost, lots of conversation, laughter, and smiles. :blushing:

I hear ya....I hate to order the typical girly salad on a date. But I've done it. Though usually I find that the chicken and steamed veggie type meals are lower in cals/fat that salads. Last weekend I went on a lunch date and there were very few options that were low cal. I ended up getting a grilled chicken and avacado sandwich, but only ate half of it. I'm sure I still exceeded my daily limit, but I think I made one of the better choices as to what to eat. Oh, but it's those appetizers that kill ya! He ordered crab dip (with bread)! OMG.
