Fat vs. Not fat...

Ok, I am going thru random success stories and lots of people have before and after pics. Well I was looking at a few and I thought to myself that a few were more attractive when they were heavier. Have you ever thought about someone that way? Have you ever thought about if people would say that about you?

I have totally thought that too! Some people do look more attractive heavier! Or there was a point where they looked great in a progress pic and then took it too far .. funny someone else thinks that too.
I guess I never thought about what people would say about me.. I don't like to think about those things. lol. People are mean.
I just know there is no way that I couldn't NOT look better smaller than heavier. Hm. Maybe those other people think that too. I guess if they feel better that is all that matters. lol
See how I talked myself right out of that opinion. ha!0 -
Not everyone loses weight in the same ways or places so yes have seen some that overall looked better but their face got kind of sunken and gaunt looking.
Never would say anything mean or harmful but it happens.
As long as the person is healthy and is decent then it doesn`t matter really.0 -
I am not saying they are ugly or I am not impressed at their success, I am saying I personally think they are just more attractive. lol0

I think I look best curvy. My face is round (even at my thinnest) which gives me a baby face. People never believe I'm 32.
If I were to lose a huge amount of weight, I'm not sure how I'd look. People (and myself) are used to my baby face. I would never want to look gaunt. AND I definately never want to lose my hips. I think I'm the only girl in the world that absolutely loves her round hips lol.0 -
Yes I've definitely seen people that look a little better with a few more pounds on them. It's usually men though.0

Yes! I think some people look (and FEEL) better with a "snuggle layer"
I have no desire to work as hard as I would have to in order to lose THAT much weight.0 -
No ones personally told me so I don't know about myself but I have seen it with others. Ulitmately though, if you are healthier and happier on the inside it will show on the outside too.0

Definitely! Some people get to a point where they look to gaunt, and it ages them. Other people, losing weight brings out beauty they didn't know about.
Everyone has to find a happy medium where they feel attractive and confident. Usually confidence brings out the best in people! And a lot of weight loss goals are really self esteem goals.
I know my personal target is more on the bigger side and not on the skinnier side because I think I would look:
a. too skinny
b. not as curvy as I would like to be
c. not achievable based on the current level of muscle I have
I have no desire to be a size 0, but I wouldn't be mad if my waist decided it wanted to be 25 inches.
I also wish I had rounder hips, but oh well, I guess I'll have to use my big quads to compensate.0 -
I've been conditioned to love that gaunt look, in theory. We all have. Fashion industry standard. In actuality, I look like crap when I'm too skinny. More like the cover of Meth Addict Magazine than the cover of Ms Magazine.0

No, we all haven't. I've never liked the gaunt look.0 -
I sort of agree. I think my face looks too thin. I don't know exactly if that's it, but it could be because it looks like I have some loose skin on my neck, that maybe makes it look too thin? I don't know. But I do think my face looks a bit better if it was slightly "puffier". :laugh:0
