Breathing and Minds' Eyes

Learn to breathe. Take a deep breath, preferably outside. Feeling the cold or warm air from the outer part of your nostrils and sensing it as it fills up your lungs. Feel your lungs squeeze together as a different constitution and composition of air leaves out the same way. Think of the cleansing effect of breathing, in with the new out with the old. Now do this again. And again. And again. Deeper each time if possible. Couple this with a blank slate for a mind, consciously expelling thoughts and worries and little nagging voices in there, focus on something, anything, and only that thing. It could be your water bottle, it could be a rotary telephone, it could be a rugby ball. See that thing in your mind, or as its called with your 'mind's eye'. Concentrate on that thing, what its made of, what it looks like, its shape, what those words say on it, what it feels like, how it moves or how it interacts with the world around it. Focus only on that thing. Or if you can, on nothing, but thats harder. As you block everything else out, and you listen and feel your breathing, you can begin to relax, meditate and have some time for yourself. What an easy and free way to do good things to your body with the least amount of effort. Shoot, you can even try this even if you are at work (like I am), or anywhere else life and its little hassles finds you. And have a good day : )
