Apparently 'The Geek Squad' is also the name of some American computer support company & so there has been some flack & confusion about our group because of the name.

So my question is this...

Should we rename the group or shall we stay as 'The Geek Squad'?

If you think we should rename the group what shall we call ourselves?

EDIT:

After looking up the geek squad on wikpedia I saw this...

"In the TV series Chuck, the main character works as a member of the Nerd Herd at a Buy More and drives in a Nerd-Herd-branded car, respectively alluding to Geek Squad, Best Buy, and its GeekMobile"

Now, I don't watch chuck but i'm sure some of you do, and I think 'The Nerd Herd' covers everything that we are. It links back to our original name by being a take on 'The Geek Squad' and it links to Chuck, which is a geek friendly show (i think?), and we are a herd of nerds right? It will be like our own in-joke.

Is it a good idea or will people then assume that this is just a group for fans of the TV show chuck?

    I wondered about that when I joined. Unless you've actually been approached with legal ramifications *kitten* 'em, keep the name. :3

    Probably not a bad idea. I'll do some thinking... Of course there will always be those who balk at anything remotely geek chic :tongue:

    Unless someone really gets their *kitten* twisted about us using the name The Geek Squad I think we should stay the course. Nerd Herd is ok with me too I just don't like changing just to suit someone else.

    If you feel like you ought to change the name I think Nerd Herd is a good choice, equally some narrow minded people thinking we are named after some PC world-esk shop in the US doesn't really bother me. Either way "trolls gunna troll and haters gunna hate" ;)
