Anyone using a reward system?

As I get closer to losing 20lbs, I feel like I should do something nice for myself. I am thinking of rewarding myself for every 20lbs lost, or asking my hubby to reward me for every 20lbs lost. lol (that might be more fun) How do you or your hubby reward weight loss progress?

That's such a great idea! How about a date night where you can indulge in a (healthier option) dessert, if that's something you've not been having?
Or (and this is my personal favourite!) ask your hubby to take you shopping for a new outfit, or part of an outfit, if you've dropped a dress size or two!
Oooh, maybe you could do both :P0 -
It depends on what you are into, but some earrings, a scarf, a hair/nail appointment might work for some. Others may want a babysitter for a movie out or a one night hotel vacation. I would love a splurgy book (hardcover) or a hobby item (like a gardening tool or art supplies or new sneakers or weights). As I started this post, I started thinking maybe it should be something collectible. Maybe a hat, a tea cup, a ring. Then you'd have one to keep for each milestone. Now you really have my mind going. I am going to look back here to see what ideas everyone has. And we had better come up with ideas quick, because the pounds will be flying off.0

What a great idea .....reward system.....I like the way you ladies think. My husband is in the USAF so fitness for him is a way of life. I on the other hand for the past couple of years have become lax...ok lazy ... in watching my figure. I am 52 years old and just kept telling myself it was the menopause causing the weight gain...yeah that's it.....NOT. So when I found MFP I got very excited....so did my sweet huband. He went out and bought me a very nice elipictal trainer.....I was so excited and I have used it everyday. Just seeing how proud he is of me makes me want to do more. I have only lost 1 lb. and he is talking about the new wardrobe I will be needing I hate shopping right now but I bet buying a size 8 will be so much more fun than buying a size 12-14. I think my favorite reward would be a beach vacation with just the two of us.....sunsets with the love of my life.....perfect0

I have always enjoyed practical gifts, so now I am dreaming about food processors, digital kitchen scales, and running shoes (and Im not even able to run yet!) However, because I have never liked my appearance, I rarely don a pretty dress, get a nice hair style, or wear jewelry and accessories. I just thought I looked silly with bling on top of fat. YUK! Now I am believing for beauty in my OWN eyes, as the Lord sees and loves me. Maybe a kitchen scale AND something pretty for a princess. My husband is also VERY excited and supportive. He has said, "I'm proud of you" so many times...but I'm not sick of hearing it yet!0

I have a list:
A Heart Rate Monitor
New Jogging Shoes
A New Hairstylist
Tanning Bed appts for 1 month
$1000 mini vacation
I have not set goals for each yet, but shoes and HRM are at the top of my list. Definitely going to get something at 20lbs and then maybe every 10 to keep me going?0 -
For 15 pounds I bought myself a kitchen scale. I had one I inherited from my Great Aunt Ruth. The little dish was all bent and the knob was impossible to adjust. I had to do squats to read it at eye level on the counter, and I could make 10 quarter pound burgers out of 2 pounds of meat! HAHAHA Now I have a digital grams/ounces/fluid ounces scale that zeroes the tare no mater how heavy the plate (up to 11 pounds).
So I lost 15#; (15.9!)
and I got a way cool scale;
But I am MOST thankful that my loving Savior led me to this site and y'all!0
