Id like to thank irishginger for pointing people to the athleta website which has a training program for triathlons incl 5k, 10k and half marathon running program's. I've been using the c25k app, but have found that although I need the interval training part of the app, I can do the app twice in one session...it's just a little too slow for me personally. So looking at what I can already do comfortably I'm starting at week 4 of 8 of the training plan I downloaded from Athleta. I use other websites to log and train with so I thought I'd share them and hopefully if there are others anyone knows about we can all benefit.
Www.athleta.com (training program and advice for tri)
Www.endomondo.com (you can manually update or via an app on your phone you can 'live' gps track your activities. Handy for bike and running etc. it will give you cal burnt, distance and time etc)
Www.swimfit.org (this has training program's for fitness or health etc. I use the challenges on this site eg. The distance across loch ness is 2miles so each time I swim I log lengths completed and it updates on a chart and map. Just a little incentive)
Www.exercise.about.com (this covers everything. But I have just printed a 40min interval training plan for the elliptical trainer as looking for new ways to introduce different types of cardio to keep my body guessing. Also saw an article on strengthening exercises you can do without weights etc that I think I'll print off for inspiration if I can't get to the gym)
Www.parkrun.org.uk (lists all of uk free weekly timed runs. Going to sign up to my local park run for the weekly 5k by mid April, should be ready then to take the running from gym to outdoor)
Anymore anyone?

Swimplan.com is pretty good too. You put in your info, stroke preferences, times, etc. and you'll get a personalized workout. The free version limits you to one per day, but that's more than enough for me!0
