We had a thread on vampires I thought we needed one on werewolves.
Just finished Anne Rice's "Wolf Gift". It is her take on werewolves. It was quite good, but I love most all of her stuff anyways.
Anyone else read it yet or plan to?
Who are some of your fave werewolves? Top of my list is Alcide from True Blood.

Harley MacFinn, from Harry Dresden universe
Earl Harbinger...King of the werewolves from Monster Hunter International0 -
I am so over her. I can't justify giving her another cent of my hard earned money. No matter how much I might like her book. So it was really good?
A couple of years ago she swore she'd never go back to writing paranormal. When she came back to the church she acted like there was something sinful about them. There is nothing wrong with them! Then her "first" AngelTime book was a huge flop. I was really looking forward to it. It was awful. Completely nonsensical!
So she picks a fight and declares she can never be Christian because we're all so awful and goes back to writing paranormal. Utterly unnecessary. Statistically, something like 80% of horror writers are Catholic. I found that statistic so odd. But interesting.
There is nothing wrong with writing paranormal in the first place. Some of Frank Paretti's books are the creepiest things I've ever read. But they are not mainstream. Steep Christian slant to them - so they get missed by most folks who love horror.
Back to the subject at hand, I love werewolves. Can't say I've gotten into books about them. Mostly TV and Movies.0 -

You know I stopped reading her stuff when she became Christian and denounced writing paranormal, but only because she thought she couldn't do both not because of her becoming Christian. I had no idea she went back to writing paranormal until someone posted about Joe Manganiello (the actor who plays Alcide on True Blood) came to one of her book signings to meet her. Then I decided to check it out.
That is a weird statistic! Hmm! I will have to check out Frank Paretti's books. I have not read anything of his.0 -
I have neither read the book for this, nor seen this film. But it looks far better than the movie they made based on The Visitation.

The little girl creeped me out enough in the trailer. I won't be able to go see it. I can do Werewolves, Vampires, etc. but that little girl was too much. The Exorcist freaked me out as a kid and then The Ring freaked me out too. Don't know why.0 -

David Naughton in An American Werewolf in London!
I had such a crush on him. Met him a few years ago at the first ever "HauntCon" haunted attraction convention. I went as "staff support" for a friend.
He's really nice. But I couldn't tell if he was painfully shy or just thought we were all a bunch of freaks. He repeatedly declined hanging out.
For the Firefly fans here, they might understand. "Crow" can be a little intimidating.0 -

Oh I am WITH YOU on that one. Kids in horror are UBER creepy. Can I get an Amen to the twins in The Shining?0 -
