Nutrition Challenge Day 10

Water is our body’s principal component. It makes up about 60 percent of body weight. Water flushes out vital organs and carries nutrients to your cells. Every system in your body depends on water. If there is a lack of water, our bodies can become dehydrated. This can make you feel tired and lethargic. Everyday we lose a lot of water through breathing, perspiration, urine and bowel movements. To keep our bodies functioning properly, we need to replenish it with a healthy amount of water. According to the Institute of Medicine, an adequate amount of water daily for men is about 13 cups and for women is 9 cups. Water is an essential part of having great health!
