Where are we all from?

I was thinking it would be good if there were people nearby who used this site to be able to meet up for a chat/support/a work out once every so often and thought this might be the place to find out where everyone is from.

I'm from Scotland, from North Lanarkshire. Anyone near me?

I'm in Wirral, Merseyside. Across the water from Liverpool :)

That's a pretty neat idea Guru, I'm originally from Manchester though I'm actually living in the West Midlands now.

Having an annual meet up if there are enough people to do it would be good, like a celebration meeting for goals met, etc? Though that would be better suited for a wider than just local meet up, given the right planning would be easy enough to do. I've had annual meets with my mates from across the UK from gaming and it's great! :)

Yeah, an annual meeting would be a good idea. Would be motivating for us all to know that we were going to meet a bunch of fellow MFPers....would help us all stick to our good intentions and have a chance at the meet up to share tips. I guess we'd need to get all the UK folk being more participative on this group, though, for it to ever get off the ground! :(

All it would take is a start really, once we get a good handful or more to do it we'll be sorted, I'm game for helping organise this, I'm sure Naffry wouldn't mind coming on the meet... I'll ask him personally on this though as I can't speak for him, though I think he would be game for it! :)

A good set of plans with a decent amount of time beforehand so people can organise around it, would give us a good day out! Say we give a minimum of 4-6months before a date set, that gives people time to save and plan around for it, though this is just an example for the topic we're on :)

Just weighed in, though I'm not sure it's the best time to weigh in this time of night? Haha! I'm 0.2lbs above my set weight at the moment, though I've recently eaten, re-weigh in the morning haha!

Yeah, it's definately something to think about. I guess we could all start chatting on MSN or a public chat room or something, too, to get to know each other better.

Can do, would make things more comfortable for a lot of people, though it depends on when people are free as well. I've not used a chat room for years, last one I used was MSN's which if I recall correctly shut down?

Once it's all in motion though, where would be the places to go? Theme parks, buffets for celebration treats, walks/sight seeing? I'm pretty dry on idea's at present truthfully... Nothing a good sleep shouldn't cure! :D -- One place that always springs to mind for me though is the Lake District, but that's purely because I love the place haha!

There would have to be a lot more input into this though, from other folk too, that way we'd have a plan in motion! :)

I guess it would all depend where abouts in the UK people came from, as well, before we could really decide. So far, the three of us that have replied to this thread are relatively northern, so if it turned out that there were lots of people from the north, we could arrange something around that. If we ended up with a more widespread group of people then we'd maybe have to meet up in London or somewhere that everyone could easily get to, or whatever.

Would maybe be cool to do something fitness related like a hill climb together or something but that would be a bit more of a logistical nightmare for people getting there as hills, in general, don't live in the middle of cities. Lol. So basically, yeah, I'm rubbish at coming up with ideas. Lol.

Definitely agreed on that one :)

Would be best to try and get it so the travel isn't so strained on people, more evenly distributed, even so, if people involved can be picked up also, that way it saves on more expenses on travel? Just put towards those doing the picking up in fuel, that's if it's cheaper to travel like that than it is to make their own ways?

Fitness related would be another great idea, but as you said it would be hard to state what we would be doing until we have a set location, although it made me laugh when you said about hill climbing in the city centres :D -- Not meaning to insult there, by the way :)

I wouldn't say anyone is rubbish at coming up with ideas, an input is an input regardless, it's nicer to have people input their ideas than have them sit back and not get involved. That way stamps of "we could have done this" can be squashed before they can come up! :)
