Ladies: would you date someone that was shorter than you? Guys would you date someone who is taller than you? I'm about 5 7- 5 8 and Im curious if I would even date a guy who is like 5 8. Im not saying like signficantly shorter but just around the same height or within a couple of inches.

Would definitely date a girl who is taller than me, by an 1/2 inch perhaps an inch or so, not so much more.
Women are normally the ones making all the fuss about this.

I've got large shoulders so I guess that kinda compensates when the girl is about my size or slightly taller than me (normally happens when she wears heels).

I am 6ft tall and have been with men who are shorter than me or are my height. I would like someone taller, but generally whatever his height is, it doesn't really bother me.

Sure, if he were awesome... though I do favor really tall guys, it's more about how he makes me feel

Twice I've asked out women who were over 6'2" (one was 6'5"). Both said no, they wanted men taller than them. I'll probably end up trying one more time and then figure that taller than me rule is true for the majority of women, even those who are going to be dealing with the outliers of men.

I have dated men a tad shorter than me (I am 5'6"), my height and taller than me. I don't have a preference on height. I like them all.

I'm 5'1" so I have only dated taller. If a man was shorter then me I would feel like I was dating my son.

Yes, I would be interested in a woman taller than I am. Although I am taller than most women, there are times when women are taller than I am.

I generally go for women shorter than I am because I don't want to fight the height battle. Women do tend to want taller men.

I am 5'9 and I prefer taller. I have dated shorter, but I had a little bit of a hang up because I could not wear heels and feel comfortable. He was 5'7.

There is just something about tall men like you that make us swoon (well I can't speak for all women, but it makes me swoon)...having a feeling of being protected when you hug us is a good thing.

Since I am only 5'5 usually if a guy is shorter then me they tend to have "Short man syndrome"aka Napoleon complex so I prefer guys taller then me.

I'm dating someone shorter than me(5'6) and I haven't detected a Napoleon complex yet ;) I generally like taller guys, so I'm still getting used to it and haven't worn heels or boots yet. I don't wear heels that often anyway, but I'm a sucker for boots with heels.

Like most every other attribute people can't control, I couldn't care less abut height.

I would.. but he'd have to be awesome in other ways for me to stoop down that low (pun intended haha).

I dated a guy 2 inches shorter than me. The only time I really cared was when I'd pick out the shoes I was going to wear on our dates. I always chose my flats.

I might date someone taller than me (6,1) although we'd look a little strange togethor if she was wearing heels.

    yes!!

And feeling like I'm hugging my son is NOT a good thing. So if he's shorter than me, well, he's gonna have to at least be broader, lol!

I am 5'4" and in my heels I am just under 6', if it didn't bother him it wouldn't bother me and I  my heels so me not wearing heels would be a deal breaker

I do prefer taller guys - I'm 5'4 but like guys who are over 6ft.
That said, I have dated guys shorter than that, it is about the person in the end.

I'm 5'9-ish, I've dated shorter men, the shortest being 5'7. I can be pretty tough, so I guess you can say if Im able to kick his *kitten* or if I give him a playful pat on the back and he goes flying, well, then, that just won`t get me all hot and bothered for him,

But, really, I don`t mind a little difference in height. I`ve no preference for taller men so much as a preference for a man who can make me feel safe and well taken care of (rare) when we go out for the evening.

P.S. Case in point, I dated a tall but skinny guy last year, we lived in a town that`s known for it`s crazy nights. I felt like I had to be the one to act as protector. Not hot. :ohwell:
