I was wondering which brands of chicken- whole-legs etc. you buy .. I am having a hard time finding any that are truly gluten free.

I have never even thought about it... Should I be? I normally buy store brand (Meijer, Spartan) or tyson.

    Yes!
most chicken and turkey have been injected with broth that is not gluten free and even some that say they are gluten free have made me sick.

I don't know where you live and what's available in your local stores. You should be able to find a local poultry supplier that doesn't inject their meat. As for the injected brands, I don't know why they'd be shooting it up with gluten. It's supposedly just water. You can call them and ask exactly what they shoot into their chickens. Wouldn't surprise me if it was something we can't eat, but where I live it's illegal to be dishonest on a food label. Now you've got me afraid to eat poultry, dammit.

It could be something other than gluten that's making you sick - some other additive shot into the meat with water in order to enhance it's appearance. Having a major auto immune disorder like celiac disease or any gluten intolerance does mean you have to be aware of other possible auto immune issues, so additives of any kind could turn on you at any time. Best to just avoid them. If you have a Whole Foods or similar store available to you, their poultry should be "clean" and while expensive, it might be the only option, so why not buy the best available?

That definitely could be the case..I have many food intolerances. Me and several of our children being gluten free is not enough to keep us safe. We also have to live grain free.99% of the time.. We can eat some popcorn or a baked good made from rice flour once in a while and only do so about once every 2 months any more than that and we are sick as dogs.. I guess I should have said chicken that only has chicken water and salt..Most gluten free chickens are still injected with broth made with corn starch .:frown:
