Tracking Insanity workouts

I have seen people use a lot of different categories to track Insanity workouts, today I used circuit training, because I felt that the cardio "vigorous effort" would be more calories than I actually burned. (I spent several minutes throughout the fit test on the floor catching my breath.) I would rather under shoot than over, and I realize a HR monitor would be best, but I'm not in a position to buy one at the moment. SO, any suggestions?

I use a hr monitor so I won't be much help... But if you can save up the money to buy one I would, I just did the insanity core cardio and balance and burned nearly 700 calories! I would have never imagined burning that much just by guessing!0

I agree a heart rate is gonna be the best way to determine your calories burned.0
