Okay this might be strange but have you every notice your self falling into patterns?

Right now I am an on a string of guys that have names that start with J. Last bf was Jeff, my long distance fwb is Jason, when I was out last weekend I met Jordon, Jorge, and Jiovoni. I know other people that date guys with the same name back to back to back.

Gosh, I dont think the name thing has happened to me

But wouldnt it be fun if you had a lover, a FWB, a husband and a boss all with the same name!!

Patterns wise, I think there is something to be said for life working in cycles. I find the saying 'menare like buses; none for months, and then 3 come along' to be very true! I also find I keep attracting the same kind of loser! :indifferent: Wish I could break THAT pattern!!

Also, I think that whenever I start something new, like getting stuck into this forum, something startling, or bizarre, or fun or useful or (Idunno) will result from it!! As in, 'everything happens for a reason, season or lifetime!'

Not quite sure if I've gone off on a tangent now, so I'll leave it there..... :flowerforyou:

No patterns now, but that happened to me in high school where all my boyfriends had the same name. I think it can happen when you date in a certain age range because X name was really popular in Y year type of thing. I bet if you googled the top baby names the year you were born it would be very obvious.

I had a long time boyfriend in highschool for four years and then another after college for five years...and they were both name Brandon. During that time I also got hit on by several guys named Brandon....it was very weird.

That makes senses but not for my J thing. The guys ages ranged from 27-45. The 45 year old was the one that tried to give me the hickey.

I've never thought about it surprisingly.

Now that I have.. the only pattern I notice is dating a bunch of white guys.
Gym crush is latino though...

My pattern is liking what I can't have and being addicted to the pursuit.

I have had two big crushes on two guys named Brandon before! And they're both super skinny!

My bfs have all had names at the beginning of the alphabet and I've always found that odd: C, B, D, A, B. I thought A was the keeper, because it was magical and, well he was the A, but no such luck. Maybe I need to meet a Zach.

Also, 4/5 of my relationships began in or very near labor day weekend. Odd.

Maybe your hatred for Minnesota would disappear if you purified yourself in the waters of Lake Minnetonka.

Actually if friend lover moves there, I'll be visiting. He can't stop speaking of Duluth. (I think that's what it's called)

I went to school in Duluth for a year. It's lovely. Tell him I was cheering for UMD and had a fit when they lost to BC on saturday.

I went my freshman year to UMD 95/96 before I decided it was too cold and went south (To Mankato in south central MN). My sister also went to UMD for 4 years 91-95 and granduated from there. I still know people that live there.

ahhh okay, he's younger. I'm not sure what school he went to but he only went for 2 years.

he tells me I'd love Duluth and how beautiful it is.

he also made me a fan of Spotted Cow!

If he went there for college it was most likely UMD. There is one other college there but its a small private college. Duluth is beautiful but too cold even for me with the lake winds. Maybe you should train for the Grandma's Marthon which is there.

IF, and this is a big IF, I decided to visit (and if he actually moves), I'd go sometime in Sept.. what's the temp then?

That's cool that you're from there. I'm going to tell him I know somebody from there now!!

During SXSW, we went to a party that had several bands from MN like Doomtree. They're awesome!

It is too bad that you've never seen Purple Rain. Great movie! If you Google the term "Lake Minnetonka Purple Rain", the long and short versions of the scene are available on YouTube. DO NOT, under any circumstances, do this at work as this scene is Not Safe For Work. Only view on your own computer/smartphone.

I'd recommend watching the whole movie if you have time.

Sept in Northern MN is probably like dec/jan for you in austin. The high probably around 50 low around freezing.

MN has a lot of great bands but you probably won't see them in Duluth most would be in the Twin Cities. Duluth is about 2 hours north of there.

I've been meaning to watch it.

I just watched Dazed and Confused for the first time last week. Dumb movie but everybody's watched it but me.

Haha, I had a string of J's back in college. Then my last bf that I was with for 4.5 years is named Bryan and this new guy I've been dating for the last 4 weeks is named Brian...and even before he knew my ex has the same name, he said people that spell that name with a "y" instead of an "i" are no bueno. LOL. He says if it's too difficult to call him Brian, I can choose to call him Dennis, Clyde, or Walter.

Oh yea...and then I have an Uncle Brian, a cousin Brian, my current boss' son is named Brian, and my new boss is named Brian...I just can't escape it..
