.... and I'm nervous. This will be my furthest run, and my longest in my marathon training (marathon is in 5 weeks).

any hints or tips to help get me home? i'm good with my energy gels, water source, shoes and appropriate lubing! is there anything i haven't thought of that you know works well for you when it gets difficult?

i don't really know what i'm asking for- divine inspiration and a confidence boost maybe!!

how do you psych yourself up for the really long runs, and keep it going?

Have a green tea about a hour before, it helps with your breathing.
Take lockets or gum to keep your breathe fresh (i find this invaluable)
This may sound stupid. But just enjoy it, not too much clock watching etc
Run at about a minute slower than your target pace. you just want time on legs
Good luck buddy i hope its as glorious where you are as it is here!

Edit: Bananas. Great source of potassium, maybe have one half way if your stomach can handle it!

What did you do for your 18, your 20? It's the same run, just 2 extra miles:)

For me pace is EVERYTHING, take it slow - marathon pace +60-90 seconds and then at the halfway point if you're feeling it you can start to pick up the pace a little.

Congrats on making this far in your training, that's a HUGE accomplishment!
