What Fresh Hell Is This?

I noticed you can customize your Food Tracking to include Sugar. So I added that to the default settings to see where I was at.

BIG mistake. I am so far over what they say my intake should be it's rediculous. Wow. I really wish I hadn't looked at that.

I was feeling like I had a handle on my diet because I was consistently coming in under my daily targets. But not when it comes to sugar.

This whole diet thing just got a whole lot tougher.

Tracking fats and getting them under control is my #1 goal right now.

I'm removing the Sugar category from my tracking report until I'm comfortable/confident about calories and fats. One thing at a time.

In the meantime I'm going to try to reduce added sugar as much as possible. Like limiting myself to one Pepsi a day, instead of my all-too-frequent 2 cans.

I swear, with this dieting business, it's one damn thing after another.

how did you kick the red can stuff? cold turkey? wean yourself off it slowly?

right now my strategy is to not finish the can. sometimes i drink 2/3, sometimes as little as a half.

i also discovered that by switching to root beer or other soft drinks on some days, it breaks Pepsi's hold on me a little bit.

I quit cold turkey...KINDA...Actually, I didn't drink any pop for 2 days (pretty good, huh?), but by the third day I was dying....so I drank a diet coke...not exactly my favorite thing in the world, but I found that I could drink 1/2 the can and muster thru the rest of the day. So, I have went from drinking 2 cans of regular coke every day (or more), to about 1/2 a can of diet coke every day with my lunch. I'm thinking that by the end of the week, I'll probably quit the diet pop, too.

If all else fails, tape a picture of Jillian Michaels to your can of Pepsi!
