Sodium! Track your sodium for the week (if you don't already) and try to stay under 2000mg or even 1500mg each day.

Water. Drink AT LEAST 8 cups a day.

Try a new (seasonal or otherwise) recipe and share it with your Housemates.

Do whatever you need to come within 100 calories under or over your daily calorie goal. If you usually are way under your goal, try to get at least within 100 calories below it. If you are usually way over, try to meet your goal or get down below 100 calories over your goal.

Aim for eating 3 types of veggies each day. They can be the same 3 veggies every day, if you'd like.

Try replacing one sweet treat you'd usually have with a piece of fruit instead. If you already eat lots of fruit, try a new kind or something seasonal you might not have had in a while.

Plan meals ahead of time! Either the night before, first thing in the morning, or several days ahead of time, log all of your food for the day beforehand. Make any necessary adjustments before you close your diary for the day.

At a special occasion, plan ahead to exercise off the calories of one indulgence OR plan ahead to make the indulgence fit into your day.

Either double check MFP's settings, or do your own research on protein. Try to reach your protein goal as a minimum as many days as you can this week.

Either double check MFP's settings, or do your own research on fiber. Try to reach your fiber goal as a minimum as many days as you can this week.

Either double check MFP's settings, or do your own research on carbs. Try to reach your carb goal as a minimum as many days as you can this week.

LOG EVERYTHING! Every day, bad or good.

No junk food holiday detox challenge! For this whole week, try to have NO junk food (or as little as possible) to really jump start our new year. Eat as well as you can as many days as you can.

Soda Challenge! Replace at least one soda/sugary drink/coffee/some other liquid weakness per day with an extra cup of water.

Rainbow Meals! Eat as many meals with 5 colors of food as possible each day. Set a goal that works best for you.

    Measurements!
I know this is not food-related, but bear with me. I would like to start having the first week's NEWTs be to take measurements for a while. So often we focus on the scale and forget to look at the other changes our bodies make.
Take as many measurements as you want. MFP has some basic ones when you go to 'check-in' but you can add as many as you want. I suggest picking the areas that want to see progress in most right now and measure those. You'll be able to see your progress in a month when we take them again!

SPEW-ing! I know this is also not food-related, but I thought some extra motivation to post would help get our House spirit going! (known as extra OWLs for spirit posts in some Houses!)

Junk food 'Detox'! Try to go as many days as possible without ANYTHING you consider to be 'junk food'. I think this is just a good exercise once in a while to remind us whether or not we have too much junk sneaking in to our food diaries or not. :)

Try a new veggie or fruit that you've never tried before (or that you haven't had in a long while).
