My First Crush

So, I was 15 and met a girl. She was sweet, pretty, nice, everything a 15 year old could want, but she was visiting her grand mother and lived in another state. We were penpals for over two years. By all accounts, I'd say she was the first girl really crushed on.
Here I am, 31 years later, meeting her for drinks tomorrow. From Facebook pics, she's OMG hot! And, unfortunately married.
How is it I feel exactly like I did when I was 15? I am so nervous, which is completely unlike me.

That's really sweet. And what a shame she's married, but great to catch up again
I also got contacted by my first crush through Friends Reunited a few years back. Also the first boy I ever kissed He has been working in Uganda for 20 years and still lived there. Divorced. We communicated for months (email, text, phone, skype) and out of the blue he declared his undying love for me!! Bit strange when he hadn't seen me for 30 years, but still, I guess he was lonely. Anyway, long story short,. he planned to come to England to visit me, revisit the town he grew up in, schools etc, and all of a sudden he stopped ringing!!
It must be me!!
Anyway, I guess I would have been nervous too had it materialised. Its only natural. Have a great time reminiscing. :flowerforyou:0 -
Fun!! Have a great time0

I totally still have a thing for my first love. Who was my first crush too .. lol. Well .. I probably still have a "thing" for how I FELT then ... not necessarily him.
It is hard to seperate how you felt then from the person she is now. Have fun and enjoy it!!! Do you feel like it could be something else or are you just looking at it friendly?0 -
I can only look at it as friends. While my current opinion of marriage isn't all that good, it isn't something I'll get in the middle of.0

Still, that's really sweet. Keep us posted!0

Ah, just asked for an update in another thread, should have revisited here.....derr!!
It's funny how life turns out. It's not meant to be, but I do wonder why your lives crossed at this point again. But hey, she's happy. You've caught up. Your own love will come again :flowerforyou:0 -
Feelings this strong don't come along that often. We meet so many people that aren't right for us that it's easy to give up hope, to settle. I just think we single peeps need these reminders of what it should feel like. So maybe seeing her again will help you find your love after all .0

I've said this before but I'll say it again - whoever finally snatches you up will be very lucky!0 -
