Hi just joined and maybe someone can answer these:

why first thing I eat comes right out?

why sometimes after going either when I'm constipated or dihera (excuse the spelling) my stomach gets hard as a rock, totally bloated

why since most food doesnt stay in, I don't lose weight

doctors never can answer, plus had this since stomach tumor and gall bladder removed years ago, so so tired of it all, and that I can never go out without worrying, just once like to go and enjoy a nice breakefast

help

  • i don't know why the drs tell you they don't know. this is one of the biggest and baddest symptoms of IBS. some ppl have it worse than others and you have it pretty bad. usually for me it's a half an hour. i think that food in the stomach automatically triggers something in the brain that triggers the intestines to push whatever is already in there OUT and as mushy as possible with tons of painful gas and bloating. i got a Rx from my dr to control it. but i also stopped drinking whole milk and some other foods. each person is different. but you would think with diarrhea, you would lose weight. yeah, but only if it's cholera and your dying. i have heard that drinking lots of water helps. but water makes me nauseous and gives me horrible acid reflex and indigestion. so does juice (not to mention the runs too). i cannot drink a lot of apple or purple grape juice without "****ting" pretty right away after. sux.
  • Thanks, worse thing is we have no insurance, and can't see doctor, cost way to much, so I just have to hang in there with over the counter things and nothing works, thanks for the help:ohwell:

IBS is where the nerves in your bowels are not working in unison, causing constipation or diahria and sometimes both is the same movement. I drink a cup of coffee every morning and most times I will have loose bowels within an hour but I do have the constipation as well which includes bloating, cramps, and nausea. Have you tried probiotics to help regulate your bowels? It was recomended by my dr. I hope you feel better
