Is this false advertising?

An acquaitance of mine wears a heavy gold medallion the size of a silver dollar with Mary and the baby Jesus on one side and the Crucifix on the other side. He said he inherited it from his grandfather. I asked him if his grandfather was strong in his faith and said very much so. I asked him if he was in the faith and he said Hell NO!
So this got me thinking...if a person wears a cross or a star of David or a Catholic pendant, etc without having the faith behind it, is it false advertising?

I don't know that it's false advertising. I mean, he's projecting a false image of himself with which other people are going to identify, but he's not necessarily advertising the faith.
So I suppose it could be false advertising, depending on what people are interpreting, haha.0
