Hello all you Calorie Burning Machines!

Sorry that our fearless original leader has seemed to leave MFP - but... we can do this and meet these goals... There were 2 of us who were made moderators prior to his departure, so I will work with the other to see what we can/want to do here. Seems like this has mostly been an individual tracking mechanism... However, I'd love to see the support increase and check in as to who is still here and where people are at in meeting their goal?!?

So... can everyone who IS still here... check in and let us all know where you are at after the first 3 months of the year?!? Anyone surprised by what they have done? or... what they haven't? Anyone changing up their goal? And - how have your results been?

Let's Celebrate our Accomplishments... and each others!

    Welp, I was a bit wrong... I guess that I did meet my goals for March! I am pretty psyched about this year-long challenge... though, I need to go ahead and change up my goals.

    Progress thus far:

    Original Goal = 150,000 calorie burn for PURPOSEFUL exercise in 2012 (I don't count cleaning, shopping, cooking, etc.)

    January Minutes = 2510 minutes
    January Calorie Burn = 26,398 calories

    February Minutes = 2,614 minutes
    February Calorie Burn = 30,211 calories

    March Minutes = 2,791
    March Calorie Burn = 29, 257 calories

    Total for 1st Quarter 2012
    Minutes = 7,915 minutes
    Calorie Burn = 85,866 calories burned

    Progress? Well... I was doing better 2 weeks ago then today... but since the beginning of the year, I am down a little over 20 pounds. So, I am planning to double that amount for the next 3 months... my goal is to drop 40 pounds (and, yeah, unfortunately I am heavy enough that it's a realistic, healthy number - especially considering that at least 10 of it is regained pounds <sigh>) by the end of June. Besides - aim high, right?!? I want to continue to work on reaching 2,500 minutes and 25,000 calories burned per month for the next 3 months... Have set some goals - which mostly is going to center around some 5K Muddy Obstacle races! I have the Dirty Dash in Billing, MT in July and Dirty Girl in Denver, CO in September... I want to be able to do all but one of the obstacles at the Billings event (can't imagine climbing the 10' hay wall by July) and that maybe, I can do every obstacle at the Denver event! The high walls scare me the most - but I DID just purchase weekly training sessions at my gym for the next 5+ months. So, we'll see...

    Alright... wordy, I know... but I am ready to start getting re-focused and using all these calories burned to increase strength and confidence while losing poundage! LOL.

    My goal is to burn the 100,000 calories for the year. I am right on track thus far. I had an episode with foot pain and it slowed my progress, but I know I can still do this. I work out 5 -6 days a week.

    I'm hoping to make the 100,000 in 2012. I've been increasing my numbers monthly. I just need to step up my game.

    So here is my totals:

    January - 627
    February - 1237
    March - 4276

    Total is 6,140 / 100,000

    Aiming for 100,000 burned - 3 months in and I've hit 30,177/100,000! If I keep this up I'll hit 120,000 kcal burned!

    In the new year I've increased my running from 3 minutes to 8 minutes stretches (c25k, yay!), new max lifting in all three major lifts:

    Squat: 132 lbs (x5, even) | 60 kg!
    Deadlift: 132 lbs x2 | 60 kg!
    Bench: 66 lbs x1 | 30 kg!

    I can do two chest dips without assistance, and I now have very very vague muscle definition when I flex. And I can do approximately 5 regular push ups.

    I have been feeling somewhat meeped because my scale's been a rock (ie, not moved at all) - but looking at these achievements, I'm pretty darn pleased that 1/4th into the year, I've broken all personal records. Score!

    My totals for the 3 months are as follows:

    Jan burned 16,000 calories for 3,168 minutes
    Feb burned 16,634 calories for 2,748 minutes
    March burned 28,723 calories for 3,000 minutes.

    I am aiming for those 100,000 by the end of the year at this rate I will be there way before the end of the year.
    My goals are to get better at the exercising I am currently doing and to continue to lose those unwanted pounds.

    My goal was to burn between 150,000 and 200,00 calories in 2012.
    I also try to only count purposeful calories. I do count cleaning if it is something major and out of the ordinary like washing walls, strenuous cleaning like moving furniture etc. I have been doing pretty well. My totals so far are:

    Total for January: 34,621
    Total for February: 34,442
    Total for March: 34,016

    Total for 2012: 103,079

    If this is the quarter check in, then I should be able to reach 350,000 by the end of the year. I am surpassing even my expectations.

    AWESOME jobs everyone... Keep it up!

    And, I agree... it's fun to see what changes are happening - even if it's not on the scale. Whether it's more calories burned, increased strength, smaller clothing, definition... those are all signs of success!

    It's always motivating to see what others are doing and how they are succeeding... let's keep it going everyone!
